Default New Cutout tool - even if you don't do area takeoffs

Even if you never do measurement takeoffs (area, lineal feet, volume, etc) take a good look at the new cutout tool that is part of the measurement tools in version 9.

You can draw a filled polygon measurement area (not a regular polygon mark-up) and then "cutout" an area (or multiple areas) that you want to remain fully visible. Just seems like a great tool for general annotations. Be sure to uncheck the "show caption" checkbox and nobody needs to know it's actually a measurement tool that you're using.

Someone else can chime in if this isn't clear or if there's a better way of doing this.

Sorry that this is an old thread, but I wanted to thank you for this tip.

Does anyone know if in the last 2 years if the cutout tool has been implemented for other markups?

I use the FT2 and cutout tool to make dashboard elements. You can set hyperlinks to anything.

Interested in a single click and drag, similar to that when used for a square or rectangle.

    Thanks
