Default Turning Off Layers to Overlay

When overlaying pdf CAD drawings is there a way to select which layers are included in the overlay? I am attempting to turn off a dimension layer but while they are 'off' in the two original drawings they appear in the overlay.

    Any thoughts? Thanks.

    Hi Jjm5005,

The overlay feature in Revu takes two PDF files and then create a layered PDF out of them. Currently you can only overlay two documents. As such, you can only have two layers in the overlayed PDF file.

Taking two PDFs that already have layers and then combining them will ultimately flatten all existing layers within that PDF file.

Probably the best thing to do would be to open each of the PDF files separately, hide the layers that you do not want, then reprint the PDF using the Bluebeam PDF printer.

This will automatically get rid of all layers, in both PDF files but give you the display that you want. If you then overlay those two files, you'll get the results you are looking for.

    Hope that helps.
